ACTi was launched on 1st January 2015 in order to service the growing actuarial demands of the non life insurance industry. At a time when the regulatory and commercial environment is experiencing considerable change we aim to offer valuable practical solutions to our clients.

While we offer the range of services including and beyond the core activities of pricing, planning and reserving we see our extensive industry experience as a key pillar to offer advice that will not only add value to our client's business but will deliver a well communicated cost effective perspective.


Acti Consulting is a non-life consultancy that has been established to offer a quality service based upon practical industry experience. Our aim is to:

Our Team


Our senior management team have over 70 years of actuarial experience between them. We have worked with and understand the challenges facing a range of entities from niche insurers to the world’s largest companies. We are insurance practitioners and have supported firms to provide practical solutions to both operational and strategic management of the business. We are used to working with senior management teams and explaining actuarial concepts in a clear concise way so that the output and results from our work can be effectively integrated into the business.
Adam Brunskill FIA

Adam has over 25 years of experience working in non-life insurance including the Lloyd’s market.


He has held senior positions in consultancy, primary insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates and reinsurance companies and has significant experience of building successful businesses. 


Prior to setting up ACTi, Adam was one of the founding partners of Mazars Actuaries and Consultants LLP; where has was responsible for building the partnership to compete with the ‘big four’ and other leading actuarial practices.


Adam has substantial experience in a number of areas that include: reserving, capital modelling and pricing across classes that comprise many of the personal and commercial lines business in both the Lloyd’s and company insurance market. He has extensive specialist commercial experience which has includes external audit, internal audit, S166 Reviews, expert witness, portfolio acquisition, solvency modelling and independent reserve reviews for a range of insurers.


He has led many strategic projects for some of the world’s largest companies on valuation of the reserves, risk management and Solvency II matters. This includes regular presentations to board of directors, management teams and the various regulatory bodies.

Dr Fessal Bouaziz
Managing Director

Fessal has over 30 years of experience working in the Insurance Industry both in life and non-life insurance in the company and Lloyd’s market. 


He has held numerous senior positions in consulting, primary insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates. 


Fessal set up an Actuarial and Risk Consultancy practice in 2001 and has since been involved with numerous clients across the UK and Europe. In addition, Fessal has extensive international experience having advised various Life and GI global companies set up worldwide.


Fessal has a significant amount of actuarial experience including capital management, pricing, reserving, reporting and regulatory work. In particular his expertise is in Solvency II, where over the last 4 years he has been involved across all pillars and the risk management framework including the standard formula, internal models, ORSA/FLAOR, USPs, risk governance and documentation.


Fessal is fluent in French, Spanish, English and together with a vast network of contacts across Europe is in a unique position to support firms with their international business operationally, strategically and within the regulatory environments.

Darren Viñales FIA, MSc
Director of Operations

Darren has over 15 years of experience working in the insurance industry as well as the financial services regulator in Gibraltar.


He has held senior positions in consultancy, insurance companies and insurance managers as well as in industry and international regulatory bodies. 

Darren holds a first class degree in mathematics from the University of Edinburgh, a master in actuarial

sciences (with his thesis being submitted for a prize).


Darren became a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2009. During five years at the Gibraltar FSC Darren gained a deep understanding of how Regulators operate.

Darren has held diverse roles in health, life, pensions and general insurers across all areas both directly employed and more recently as part of an insurance manager. He has held the position of actuarial function holder. With most of his experience gained working in small teams he has gained strong technical and general actuarial skills.

Darren has served as Secretary of the Group of International Insurance Centre Supervisors and along with frequent visits to EIOPA workshops during the implementation of Solvency II has gained an international outlook on regulation. He has also held the position of member of the Executive Committee of the Gibraltar Insurance Association.
